(In which Phae rambles a bit about what she wants to write, what she wants to accomplish, and the next project after "Stolen")

Just some goal-type jotting down, to get things out of my head (and not forget them!).

If I ever do make this writing thing work, I don't think I will be able to settle myself to just one genre.

I think my first writing love is SciFi/cyberpunk. I adore reading it, and I really like writing it. I hope I can make it work.

However, I also like fantasy. I don't really see myself writing regular high fantasy, but I'd love to try the darker stuff (Beauty really will be pulled out again some day and made to behave and finish and stuff).

Then there's other things. I'd like to write some things set in NM, in Albuquerque and maybe Santa Fe and/or Socorro as well. Whether straight fiction or horror or what, I'm not sure...

Of course, thinking along these lines on my way home from work tonight, I've gotten an idea for something I'd like to work on next.

It started with thinking about Albuquerque, and then thinking (for some random reason) about my friend Marsha. Somehow Marsha + writing + Albuquerque led to me deciding that I need to write a post-apocalyptic story set in Albuquerque in the near future, that has Marsha and Christina (another local friend) in it. Well, maybe not them exactly, but a pair of female main characters based on them. I think they need to have the Red Army as their vehicle, as well. Now, my goal will be to write a story with all this, and still have it come off as serious fiction, and not several pages of in-jokes.

Yesss....this will be fun. :) I plan to start it as soon as I finish the other.
